Production Control and Electronic Panels

Sistrade implemented a production planning system in Unitefi, based in Sistarde® Textile technology. Among other functionalities it will be possible to automatically schedule, with real time help, work orders according to sorting criteria defined by the production manager.

Sistrade also implemented an information system based in industrial electronic panels, throughout the factory, in which the general interest production ratios will be shown. UNITEFI - Industrias Têxteis da Figueira, S.A., was born in a little factory founded 45 years ago by Francisco Martins Antunes, under the name of Malhas Sidney, Lda.

Its structure changed along the time. Nowadays, UNITEFI is a modern production unit, producing high quality external knitwear, with about 250 employees. The year 1970 was a company’s milestone, originating the great qualitative leap with the Carritos Factory construction. In this facility, the brand TIFFANY began to be produced, and rapidly conquered a wide share of the portuguese market.

This industrial unit never stopped its growth, investing in new equipment and constantly renewing itself in technological terms. It gradually spread its business to the international market and, as a consequence of a very unique dynamization, largely settled itself in the portuguese market.

In 1983, the company took over, by a merger operation, two other companies in the same business: Malhas Sidney, Lda. and Abridex, S.a.r.l.. Nowadays, beyond TIFFANY brand, it produces brands like SIDNEY and COURAGE for the portuguese market and KARRIS brand for exportation.

Quality and modernization are two of the factors in which UNITEFI particularly commits itself and, in the last years, the company has made substantial investments in facilities and new equipment, using state-of-the-art machines. this reality, allied to staff training programs in new technologies, will allow UNITEFI to securely face future combats, particularly after 1992.

UNITEFI – Industrias Têxteis da Figueira, S.A., with a management directed to participated management, in modern terms, is supported by a private I.T. department and, in the management level, the support comes from human resources highly skilled and qualified.

In the creative and design areas, beyond the cooperation with italian designers, it owns its own creative team that has CAD systems available, with the most advanced computer aided techniques. Production, to portuguese and international markets, has nowadays a significant weight, either at regional or at national level, where it occupies the 17th place in the portuguese SME's ranking.
