PACKAGING PRINTING

Founded in 1993, Tipocor's main activity is the production of pharmaceutical leaflets. At the end of 2016, it launched a new business area - folding cartons - producing paper packaging. SISTRADE provided Tipocor with a vertical solution for the packaging and printing industry, enabling the management and control of the company's industrial and business processes.

The implementation of Sistrade's Estimating module has significantly improved Tipocor's handling of customer inquiries and project estimations, enabling the company to generate accurate and timely quotes, which improved customer satisfaction. By integrating the Commercial Management feature, Tipocor has enhanced its ability to manage client relationships and track sales performance effectively, ensuring that each project meets client specifications and regulatory requirements. Moreover, the implementation of SISTRADE’s MES module has provided Tipocor with real-time insights into production processes. This enables Tipocor to monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and make data-driven decisions to enhance productivity.

Overall, the implementation of Sistrade software has empowered Tipocor to achieve higher levels of operational efficiency, ensuring that they can continue to meet the high standards required in the pharmaceutical industry.

INTERVIEW WITH HUGO ALMEIDA FOR PACKAGING MAGAZINE

«Today it would be impossible to work without Sistrade’s system»

Specialized in printing for the pharmaceutical industry, Tipocor – Pharma Print has built, over more than two decades, a path marked by high standards, specialization, and a continuous commitment to quality.

Headquartered in Frielas (Loures), Tipocor has consolidated its position as a reference supplier of leaflets, package inserts, and packaging in a sector where precision and traceability are crucial. The investment in digital transformation, through the implementation of Sistrade’s ERP system, represents a decisive turning point in the company’s history. “Tipocor is a printing company specialized in working with the pharmaceutical sector, namely leaflets, package inserts, and boxes. And that is the level at which we operate in the market,” explains Hugo Almeida, Tipocor’s Administrator and also the owner of the company.

The connection with Sistrade began between 2016 and 2017 with the introduction of an initial module. From there, the system grew gradually, as the team mastered each tool and integrated new management areas. “We started with just one module in the beginning and, as we applied our knowledge and used the tool, we purchased more modules. At this moment, we already have a series of modules in operation and, as soon as each one reaches 100%, we move on to the next, so as not to compromise the company’s functioning,” says the manager.

Currently, Sistrade’s ERP is present in virtually every stage of the production and administrative process—from job opening and work orders to invoicing—covering quality, human resources, management, planning, and continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen). “Planning is essential. We use the system from job opening all the way to invoicing. We have quality, human resources, management, and planning modules. It’s a tool without which we could not work at this point,” emphasizes Hugo Almeida.

The digitalization of the production process, supported by Sistrade’s software, has brought greater control and transparency over costs and productivity, paving the way for more analytical and sustainable management. “We have a module that allows us to measure productivity by operator and by machine. It’s not yet at 100%, but it will be completed by the end of the year. When we move to the new facilities, we will also move forward with the logistics component,” he explains. Technological evolution is accompanied by organizational and physical transformation: the integration of a newly acquired printing unit and the move to larger facilities. The goal is clear: to unify the entire operation in one space and within a single system. “Just as our company from a few years ago cannot be compared with what it is today, without Sistrade we would not be able to function now. It would be impossible to have the data and indicators we have today, which are essential for managing the company,” says Hugo Almeida. The relationship with Sistrade is, in his words, “excellent, both with the employees who have worked with us before and those who work with us now.” The alignment in values and vision is evident. “Sistrade is celebrating 25 years, and I also have 25 years of Tipocor and of working in the graphic arts. What I wish for them is the same I wish for us: to grow sustainably, without putting the business at risk, and to be as successful as they have been until now.”

Tipocor’s journey illustrates the path of many small and medium-sized printing companies that have found in specialization and technological integration the balance between tradition and the future. From the family-run management of the early years—centered on closeness with the team and rigorous processes—to today’s digital and analytical structure, the company has evolved without losing its focus: to be a trusted reference for the pharmaceutical sector.
